The South Berkshire Pastoral Area of Portsmouth Diocese
covers Wokingham, Bracknell, Sandhurst, and Crowthorne,
and includes five worshipping communities, three primary schools, and one religious community.
With the Great Park Pastoral Area it forms a natural grouping for CAFOD Portsmouth Diocese.
All churches and schools have long been strong supporters of CAFOD.
And like the Diocese as a whole, each church has its own FairTrade certification.

The information here is as accurate as possible in mid-2008.  The Diocesan Pastoral Plan envisages
about 25 or so parishes composed of a number of church communities. One option would be to have
one single parish based on the South Berkshire Pastoral Area.  So this page and others are opportunities for
everyone to see and understand something of the activities, ways and personality of the others.

This JustOne page lists all the churches, with key information such as location, parish phone number, Mass times and websites.
It also catalogues the three primary schools.  And because the Area does not have any
Catholic secondary or senior schools, the page shows some options available in nearby towns:
Reading, Slough, Farnham, Chertsey, Ascot, Windsor and Farnborough.

NB Have a look at the parish websites.  They're rich sources of information, and usually carry
on-line weekly newsletters, PPC minutes, rotas, finances, events, and so on.

JustOne
is a special sort of thank-you to people and organisations in and around East and South Berkshire wanting to do something about the causes of poverty
in countries across the world.

It's an informal, unofficial and independent local offshoot of CAFOD - the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development.  So JustOne is intended to be of use and service to like-minded organisations and individuals.

JustOne is organised by Hugh Gibbons, a Media Volunteer with CAFOD in Portsmouth Diocese.

He says: "The idea is to put my Ahaa! business psychology and other experience and expertise to work for the benefit of others - in a variety of ways. As important, it's to say Thanks, and Well Done to lots of people."  And JustOne has just one source of funding - guess who.

If you'd like to join JustOne as an organisation (eg church, school) or individual, membership is free and comes with no obligations (or committees!).  Just contact Hugh:

Tel:  01344 451847
