Helping hands for UK schools Helping hands more locally Contact Just1	Just1's creator and Conductor Hugh Gibbons says... The Dalai Lama put it well: if you think one person can't make a difference, you've never shared a bedroom with a mosquito. Just1 is a helping hand - a unique, unstuffy, and sideways-thinking organisation of just one person helping promote social justice in the world. Lots of people like the idea - especially teachers in many UK schools. Just1 is just me, encouraging and co-ordinating the help of a surprising diversity of others, using e-mail to save costs and carbon. It's voluntary and amateur. (As the saying goes: professionals built The Titanic - amateurs built The Ark.) With no committees, no minutes, no blogs. Just1 is non-political, non-fundraising, not-for-profit, operating on miniscule funding (ie a few quid from my personal pocket). Just1 is my late-in-life and independent way of applying some useful career experience and skills; lending a hand to campaigns against worldwide poverty; being of some local use as well. And saying thank-you in unusual ways. I created Just1 to help MakePovertyHistory - in my role as a schools and media volunteer with CAFOD - the official relief and development agency of the Catholic Church in England & Wales. But with Just1 I can be of help far more widely in the UK - and for many different communities. And an aim is to let as many people as possible join in. And Just1 activities?
