Just1's creator and Conductor Hugh Gibbons says:
for over six years, Just1 has been
lending a helping hand to all sorts of communities. It's a unique, unstuffy, and
sideways-thinking organisation to support UK communities that work for social justice in the world. Just1 is just me, encouraging a surprising diversity of others to join in. With no committees, no minutes, no blogs or tweets. So it's non-political, not-for-profit, operating on miniscule funding (ie from my personal pocket). It's a late-in-life and independent way of applying some useful career experience and skills; lending a hand to campaigns against worldwide poverty; being of some local use as well. And saying thank-you in unusual ways. I created Just1 to help MakePovertyHistory - in my role as a schools and media volunteer with CAFOD - the official relief and development agency of the Catholic Church in England & Wales.
But I've been able to lend a helping hand far more widely - for schools, faith communities, aid agencies - aiming for activities that let as many people as possible join in, easily and
And Just1 activities?
Well, how about these... |

![]() Save Our Saint A temporary website as a helping hand for the wellbeing of friends of St Margaret Clitherow Church and the Bracknell Catholic community. This website first appeared in mid-2010, and has not had anything major since July 2011, when it was announced that the church would be demolished. It's likely that it will be re-incarnated in early 2012 as The Integrity Commission. For other information on the state of play, there's another well-stocked website by The Friends of St Margaret Clitherow Church and a robust Facebook page. You'll also find a lot in the Bracknell local and other press on-line. |
