StandUps are a good story to share with your local communities. What you're going to do or have done on Friday 16 October says a lot about the ethos and values and personality of the school. So it's a good idea to consider sending your local papers a simple press release. You know they welcome all sorts of good news stories. If you can get someone to take a photo of the event as well, that'll also be welcomed. Sometimes papers may suggest sending a photographer along. (NB but check that it's OK to photo and show the children without actual parental consent.) If you haven't got time to chew over a press release, you can download one we made earlier for you to rework as appropriate. Local radio may also be interested - especially in a live interview on the day. Given the likely scale of the StandUps around the country, the national press will probably be interested in the story (even though they seem to prefer bad news...)
